Evolution of Suspension.

When was the last time there was a major change in vehicle dynamics?
Hold on to your seat, this is going to be a wild ride!
How a vehicle responds to the environment it is in, is changing, here, now.
Take the journey with us. Like our social media and stay up do date on the advancement of suspension and how it will make your life better, safer, more thrilling and more comfortable.

What is Cross Link?

  • Cross Link is advanced control without computers
  • Cross Link automatically balances the vehicle
  • Cross Link rides softer and yet takes harder hits
  • Cross Link provides anti-roll control AND full wheel articulation simultaneously
  • The harder you go into a corner,  the faster you can take it
  • Suspension mechanically connects all four tires so the whole vehicle responds to changes in your driving rather than affecting just a single tire
  • Cross Link uses less energy to go over obstacles
  • Cross Link increases load carrying capabilities...and levels the vehicle
  • Cross Link provides anti-dive and anti-lift response to braking and acceleration
  • Cross Link improves hill climbing, descending and side hilling angles

Our prototype sees the light of day!
We take the prototype out of the shop and into the trailer for our first show, but did a quick video first!

Industry first:
Full Articulation - Easily navigates rough terrain
Anti Roll - Corners with confidence, smoother than conventional shocks - no sway bar
Anti Dive - Brake with authority, decreases braking distance while keeping the vehicle level
Anti Lift - Upon acceleration (or going uphill) it keeps the nose down where it belongs

Mind Bending Self Leveling Capabilities

This video highlights the self leveling capabilities of the Cross Link Suspension.
Watch it to see the front end lift up when we use the floor jack at the back.
Then again when we move the jack to the side.
All while it enjoys full articulation.
Mechanical logic in action.

Proof of Concept Tested!

We test Kolltek Cross Link (KCL) 1.0. Fantastic results, watch and enjoy!
Points to keep in mind:
  • This is KCL 1.0
  • Many specifications were best guess
  • Our latest design, KCL 4.0 eliminates all of the linkages and extra shocks
  • There is still a ton of room for improvement
  • It quite clearly proves the concept - It is possible to have both anti-roll and full articulation (among many other benefits)
  • NO SWAY BAR

Kolltek Cross Link 4.0 has Arrived!

During the test process for KCL 1.0, a few issues popped up.
In the process of solving those issues, a new design scheme emerged.
Welcome to KCL 4.0!

  • Faster transition to load balancing (anti-roll, anti-dive etc)
  • Adjustable ratio of individual wheel versus cross wheel movement (all previous versions are fixed)
  • Ability to lower ride height
  • Transition balancing, ride height adjustment, compression and rebound valving all controllable from the cab
  • On the fly adjustments
  • Ability to convert to electronic adjustments
  • Ability to add AI
  • Base model cost improvement

Initial Test Pics

Testing gave us the springs rates we needed to have the wheels interact with the system the way we envisioned. Absolutely no changes to the suspension from one test site to the next. Happy campers.

Cross Link 1.0

Mechanically connects all tires so the vehicle responds as a whole vehicle rather than as individual tires.  Includes additional shocks to distribute the load across the vehicle to the tire that needs it. Does not use any electronics, mechanical logic only.

Cross Link 2.0

Eliminates the mechanical linkage, yet retains all of the positive attributes of the original system. Uses hydraulic rams on the end of the shocks to transfer the force from shock to shock. Essentially replaces the tubes and pivots with hrydraulics.

Cross Link 3.0

Not only does 3.0 remove the mechanical linkages as in 2.0, it also reduces the number of shocks to 4. It retains all of the positive attributes of 1.0. All systems remove the sway bars. 3.0 is operationally equivalent to 1.0 but packaged much better and allows for retrofit systems.

Suspension is Obsolete, Long Live Suspension!

Everything changes.
We are fortunate to be involved with the evolution of vehicle suspension.
Currently, suspension technology focuses on the action of the wheel in response to road conditions.

Our suspension technology focuses on the action of the entire vehicle... without any electronics...at all.
Cross Link Suspension changes vehicle dynamics.

About Us

Get to know more about what makes us different.

We are motorsports enthusiasts and competitors. Always looking to go faster, smoother, easier (we ain't getting younger). Though we have an off road focus, the Cross Link Suspension brings incredible value to on road uses too and is the start of many cool projects for us.

There are many ways to innovate. Our tact is to look at systems as opposed to parts. How can we improve the system?
What has history focused on?
What has history missed?
Where are the gaps?
What is the desired end result?
Is there a better way to achieve it than what has been traditionally proposed?

We need to get out of our own way.
Observe - propose a solution - execute - repeat - all from a systems view.

You can see above our clean sheet ground up design of a desert race ATV with industry leading suspension at 18" up front and 20" in the rear along with a 110hp motor capable of speeds well in excess of 100mph.

We have an interest in electric drive, complete vehicle design and more.

We have designed an internal combustion engine that can take power from top dead center, traditional motors can't.
Suspended handlebars.
Anti Vibe handlebar mounts.
Doubled efficiency of vertical axis wind turbines

Our next project after the Cross Link:
Extreme Terrain Vehicle -
Fast, mission flexible, amphibious, out climb, descend, cross ravines, boulders, trees. The ETV will redefine what's possible from a SxS sized vehicle.
